Situated in a very secluded area on the upper river of Lake Blue Ridge, the Fox Residence was a complete renovation for StudioTrimble. Design services included both interior and exterior of the house. The front steps were falling off the house, the basement had significant moisture requiring extensive waterproofing. The existing residence was dated, with dark colored and tired finishes. The lighting fixtures were also dated and provided insufficient illumination. Very little furniture remained in the house with the purchase, so StudioTrimble completely furnished and installed new furnishings throughout. The overall scope of services included selecting new finishes, new lighting, new furnishings, new window treatments, new custom designed kitchen, all bathroom vanities were updated or replaced, new custom designed bar in basement and new custom built in cabinets in living room. StudioTrimble also provided construction administration services and was the homeowner’s on-site project managers throughout the construction process providing site visit reports, updates on construction progress throughout and coordination with the entire construction team.
The new owners lived out of state so most of the design and construction process occurred electronically and long distance.

Screen Porch
The screen porch was the major area where water was getting into the house so we designed several elements to alleviate this problem. We designed and constructed a new roof extension on the lake side to deflect storm water from coming inside the porch from this direction. We also removed the existing flooring and rebuilt the subfloor to include waterproofing materials before installing new tile flooring. We updated all furniture, rugs, lighting and added window screening with pull down privacy shades to the side wall facing the neighbors.

Exterior Front Facade
The stone steps were not constructed correctly so we removed them and created an extension of the upper platform that led to both front and side doors. Then, we designed and constructed new elongated steps connecting these two doors and entryways, making access to the interior easier.
